Barrie has 20 years of experience in wheel building. He can build you a new set of wheels to your own specifications, or repair your existing wheel, replacing a rim, hub or spokes only – whatever you need. For example, if you have a good quality hub, but your rim has been hammered just too many times, Barrie can rebuild a wheel with a new rim of your choice. We use DT spokes because we have found them to be the best quality at an affordable price.
Alternatively, if you can get 3 to 5 mates together who all would like to learn how to build wheels, book into our ‘On Your Own 2 Wheels’ training course (see ‘Bike Services / Bike Repairs Training’ tab for details). Building wheels is not rocket science, but requires a systematic approach to calculate the correct spoke length for a rim / hub combination and patience to assemble it correctly.
